"If everyone else is doing it, shouldn't we? It goes against everything our parent's told us, but in this case it makes sense. 100% of my students do it, business professionals do it, businesses are doing it, grandparents are doing it, and President Obama did it. Of course, I'm referring to social networking and marketing," said Greg Perry, Beachwood High School Marketing and Junior Achievement Advisor.

"Coming Together... One Shirt at a Time" is the slogan of the latest social marketing experiment by Beachwood Business and Marketing classes. Using a simple 100% organic cotton shirt that the students designed, they are creating a comprehensive marketing plan to sell the shirts to the entire Beachwood community, past and present around the world. The key component to the campaign will be the utilization of social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and Linkedin.

The Beachwood Marketing and Business classes are composed of 42 students from Beachwood, Mayfield, Richmond Heights, and Brush High Schools.

Beachwood Junior Achievement is recognized as the worlds most successful company program. This success comes from their development of the Green Dream environmental showcase, Ohio's largest green business fair.

Proceeds from the "Coming Together... One Shirt at a Time" campaign will be used for Beachwood Marketing/Junior Achievement's Green Dream Eco-Friendly Showcase and the continued development of the Beachwood Green Leadership Alliance.
